Poonams Furniture House

Our place, Poonams Furniture House, is tucked into Manandi Plaza at No.2. It’s right next to the St Marks Hotel on St Marks Road. It is a central spot, so there is always something happening outside. The building itself has been around for some time. We aren't trying to be the most modern shop on the block. We just have our space and we do what we do. The walk-in traffic from the hotel next door is interesting sometimes. People get lost and wander in. The plaza can be a bit cramped for parking, but that’s just how this part of town is. Inside, things are piled up here and there. We don't have a big team of people in suits. It’s just us. We’ve seen the road change quite a bit over the years. New shops come and go, but we’re still here at the same address. Sometimes the lights in the plaza flicker a bit, but we just ignore it. We keep a ledger for everything because that’s what we’re comfortable with. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe. We don't have a lot of polished brochures. If someone wants to know something, they just ask. The noise from St Marks Road is constant, but it’s a good kind of energy. We spend our mornings getting things ready and the afternoons usually involve a lot of phone calls. It’s a steady way to live for us.
