Sahayogi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Over in Bolangir, specifically in Tangarpada, Sahayogi Farmers Producer Company Limited is where we do our work. We are based out of Pabitra Mohan Sahu’s place. Bolangir is a tough place sometimes because it gets so hot in the summer, but we are used to it. Our group is all about the farmers in this area. We get together to talk about what we’re growing and how to get it to market without losing too much money. It’s a cooperative effort, really. You won't find any shiny glass buildings here. It’s just a village setting where we meet under a roof and figure things out together. Sometimes we sit on the porch of the house and go over the accounts. We deal with the 767029 area, which is mostly farmland as far as you can see. Life moves a bit slower here in Deagaon, but there’s always something to do with the crops. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation. We’re just local folks who know each other and want to make sure the farming community stays afloat. Sometimes the rains don’t come when they should, and we all worry together. Other times the harvest is good, and the mood is much better. We just take it one day at a time, keeping our tools ready and our records as straight as we can. It’s just us, working the land and helping each other out. We keep things simple and practical.
