Dnyansampada Prathmik Vidhyaalay

This primary school is tucked away in Bhavshingpura, which is part of the Padegaon area in Aurangabad. It is a local Marathi-medium kind of place where we focus on the early years of schooling. Dnyansampada Prathmik Vidhyaalay has been around for some time now. The building is nothing special to look at from the outside, but inside it is always full of life. We have small classrooms because the building isn't that big. Most of the kids live within walking distance, so you see them coming in groups every morning. Their parents are usually workers or small shop owners in the Aurangabad-Maharashtra area. We don't have much in the way of expensive equipment. We use chalk and boards and lots of paper. Sometimes the kids get a bit rowdy, but that's just part of being a primary school. The teachers are patient, mostly because they've seen it all before. We try to make sure every child learns how to read and write properly before they move on to the bigger schools. It’s a lot of hard work for the staff, but it’s what we do. The address in Bhavshingpura is well known to the people living around here. It’s just a humble place for education. The school bell is just a manual one that someone rings by hand. It marks the start and end of our day in Padegaon. Sometimes the local dogs wander into the yard, and we have to shoo them away. It's just a part of life in this part of Aurangabad.
