Dharmgarh Seva Samiti Farmer Producer is located in Makhanpur, which is in the Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. We are based at Anurag Kumar’s house. The name sounds a bit formal, but we are just a collection of farmers from the local area. We’ve been working this land for as long as anyone can remember. This whole "company" thing is really just a way for us to pool our resources and make sure we aren't getting a bad deal at the market. Auraiya can be a tough place to farm, but there is a good sense of community here in Makhanpur. We spend our days out in the sun and our evenings talking about what we need for the next planting season. Anurag handles a lot of the coordination, but everyone chips in where they can. We don't have any big mission statements or marketing slogans. We just want to be able to sell our grains and vegetables for a price that lets us keep going. The work is hard and the hours are long, especially when the harvest hits. You won't find any corporate suits here, just people in dusty clothes who know the value of a hard day's labor. It’s a practical way of living. We just do the work, look after our neighbors, and try to keep the Seva Samiti moving forward for everyone’s benefit.
