Jheelaveer Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Jheela in the Ashoknagar district. Komal Singh looks after the office part at his place. We decided to put this company together so we could have a bit more say in how our produce is handled. It’s mostly just us sitting around and planning the next season. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just want to grow our crops and make sure we can pay our bills. The ground here can be tough, so we share what we know about the soil and the water. Sometimes the rains are late, and that’s when we really have to work together. We grow things like soy and wheat, whatever works for the season. Our office is just a room with a desk and some chairs where we can talk. Most of the real work happens outside. We don't really think of ourselves as a big company, just a collective of neighbors. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything running, especially with all the rules these days. We are just doing our best to keep the farming tradition going in this part of Ashoknagar for our kids.
