Athaikehda Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of the village of Athaikheda in the Esagarh area. You can find us at Dinesh Kumar Sharma’s place in the Ashok Nagar district. It’s a very rural spot and we are just regular farmers. We don't have a big sign or a fancy office. Most of our work happens right there in the village or out in the fields. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how we sell our crops. Ashok Nagar is a place where everyone depends on the land. We spend a lot of time worrying about the rain and the price of diesel for the tractors. We aren't professional businessmen. We just learn by doing. Sometimes we sit around and talk for hours about the right way to store the grain. It’s a slow life but it’s what we know. We don't have any big mission or marketing slogans. We just try to help each other out. If a neighbor is having a hard time with their harvest, we try to see what the group can do. It’s a simple way of living and working. We keep our accounts in old registers and we don't have any fancy computers. It’s just about the soil and the people who work it. We’ve been here for generations and we just want to keep the farming tradition alive as best as we can.
