Mahanaagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically a group of us farmers around Esagarh. We have our main setup at Pramod Raghuwanshi’s place in the Mahalaxmi Nagar Colony. It’s a quiet enough spot in Ashok Nagar, but things get busy when it’s time to move the produce. We aren’t some big city corporation with a glass building. We are just local people who decided to work together so we could get better results from our farming. Living in Madhya Pradesh means we are always at the mercy of the weather, so we spend a lot of time talking about the rain and the soil. Our office is just a place to keep our papers and meet up after a long day in the fields. Most of the people involved here have been farming for their whole lives, just like their fathers did. We know the land in this part of Ashok Nagar really well. Sometimes the work is hard and the prices are not what we hope for, but being part of this company helps us stay organized. We do not use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow what we can and try to make sure everyone gets a fair deal. If you come by Mahalaxmi Nagar, you will see we are just regular folks doing what needs to be done. It is hard work but it is honest.
