Ultratech Cement Limited

This is the Reddipalayam Cement Works, located at number 1 in Reddipalayam, which is part of the Ariyalur H.O area. A massive site like this is quite different from a small local shop. There’s a lot of heavy machinery and tall structures here that you can see from a distance. We spend our days dealing with the production and moving of large amounts of cement. It’s a very dusty environment, as you might expect from a place that makes cement all day. Trucks come in and out at all hours of the day and night. It’s a 24-hour operation for the most part, so the lights are always on. We have a lot of people working here in different shifts. It’s definitely not a quiet place to be. The sound of the grinders and the conveyor belts is constant and very loud. We don’t really have a traditional 'About Us' story with a lot of flowery words or marketing talk. We just make cement for construction. It’s a heavy industry and we take the daily work seriously. The Ariyalur area is known for this kind of industrial work, so we fit right in with the landscape. We have a canteen where the guys eat their meals, and the offices are just basic rooms with some maps and schedules on the walls. It’s all about the logistics and the daily output for us. We don't have a showroom for customers to browse.
