This particular site is out at number 287 in Pennadam, over in the Perambalur district. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but it’s where the work happens. We handle a lot of cement bags every day, so the whole place has that gray dust that you just can’t ever fully get rid of. It’s on our clothes, the desks, and the floor. That’s just the nature of the business. At The Ramco Cements Ltd, we don’t spend much time on corporate talk. We’re more concerned with whether the trucks are loaded on time and if the bags are stacked safely. The weather out here in Pennadam can be quite harsh, either very hot or very rainy, which affects how we move the stock. We have a small crew that has been working together for a long time. We know the routine inside and out. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of numbers in our logs. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us near the loading docks or in the small office area. It’s a straightforward operation. We just provide the materials that people need for building things. There’s a certain satisfaction in seeing the trucks go out full. It’s a quiet life in Perambalur, but the work is steady and keeps us grounded.
