Shankarapatnam Women Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are a group of women from Shankarapatnam who decided to come together to manage our farming work more effectively. Most of us live right here in Erukalagudem, specifically around the 2-71 area. It started because we were all doing the same things separately and it felt like we could get more done if we pooled our resources together. Our daily routine involves looking after the crops and making sure the harvest is handled right. It is hard work, but being part of this collective makes the burden a bit lighter for everyone involved. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that, just our local spot where we meet to talk about the seeds, the weather, and what needs to be planted next. Dealing with the markets is easier when there are more of us standing together. We focus on the things we know, like the soil and the seasons in our mandal. Some days are tougher than others, especially when the rain does not come on time or the prices drop, but we just keep going. It is mostly about supporting each other and making sure our families have what they need to get by. We have been at this for a while now and we have learned a lot about the business side of things along the way. It is just us local women trying to make a decent living from our land without making things more complicated than they need to be.
