Raithu Hitha Producer Company Limited is located over in Sanjeevapuram at H. No. 2/64 in the B. C. Colony. We’re out here in the Garladinne-Anantapur area. It’s a dry place, so farming isn't always the easiest thing to do around here. We started this company because we wanted to have a bit more control over how we do things. Most of us live right here in the colony or close by in the village. The name Raithu Hitha means we’re looking out for the farmers, and that’s really all there is to it. We spend our days trying to figure out the best way to get our produce moved and how to deal with the water situation. Our office is just a regular house, which makes it feel more comfortable for everyone to drop in and chat. There’s no formal reception or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is there. We’ve all known each other for a long time, so there’s a lot of trust, even when things get stressful. It’s a tough life being a farmer in Anantapur, but having this group makes it feel like we aren't doing it all alone. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone gets what they need to keep their farms running for another year.
