Narayana Junior College

This junior college is in Oldtown Anantapur at 20 385. Anantapur is a dry place and the Oldtown area has a lot of history and narrow streets. We are right in the middle of it. The college is a place where students come for their intermediate years before they go off to university. It is a busy building with kids running around between classes. We don't have a big campus with grass and trees. It is more of an urban setup where every bit of space is used for something important. The rooms are filled with benches and the walls have seen a lot of posters over the years. We have a small office where we handle the admissions and the fees. It is not a corporate environment at all. The staff knows the students by name and we talk to the parents when they stop by. We deal with the heat as best as we can with ceiling fans. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out and keep teaching. It is just the way things are here in this part of Andhra Pradesh. We aren't trying to be the fanciest college in India. We just provide a place for the local kids to get their education without having to travel too far from their homes. It is a lot of routine and daily chores for everyone here.
