Our spot is right on National Highway No.8, specifically near the Samarkha Cross Road in Anand. Being out on the highway is different from being in the city center. It’s much louder and the air always feels a bit dusty from the trucks passing by. Our office is simple, just a small building where we can sit and talk to people. We get a lot of travelers who are just passing through and need to figure out their next stop. The cross road is a busy intersection, so there's always something happening outside. We have a few plastic chairs and a desk that’s covered in notes and old calendars. It’s not a place where you’d come for a fancy meeting, but it works for what we do. We drink a lot of chai from the stall next door. Sometimes it’s quiet for an hour, and then three people walk in at once. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. It's just a functional space. The sun hits the front windows pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually keep the curtains half-drawn. Most of our work is done over the phone or by talking to the drivers who pull over. It’s a very grounded way to work. You see all sorts of people on the highway. We just try to keep things organized and help people get where they're going without too much fuss.
