The place where I work as a Front Desk Officer is at C/5 Aarutinagar. This is on Jitodia Road in Anand. It’s a simple spot, really. The building is part of the Aarutinagar area, which is mostly residential and small shops. I sit at the front and handle whoever walks through the door. It’s not a grand entrance with a fountain or anything like that. Just a desk, a telephone, and a couple of chairs for people to wait in. Jitodia Road can get pretty crowded with scooters and cycles during the rush hour. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, so I’m always wiping down the counter. We’ve been here at C/5 for a while. The office isn’t very large. It’s just a few rooms where we do our daily tasks. I talk to the courier guys, answer the same questions on the phone, and keep track of who is coming in to see the boss. It’s a very local vibe here. We don’t use fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in registers. People in Anand like to talk face to face, so I spend a lot of time chatting with visitors while they wait. It’s a basic job in a basic office. No corporate talk or big promises, just me sitting at the front desk making sure things don’t get too messy during the day-to-day operations.
