Southern Traders

Our place is right in the middle of the chaos at Pindi Street. We are in Ward No. 87, inside the Manmohan Market. If you know the area near Gujjar Mal Road, you know how crowded it gets with shoppers and carts everywhere. Southern Traders has been operating from this little corner for quite some time now. It’s a tight space, but we make it work by stacking things all the way to the ceiling. The market is loud and there’s always someone shouting or a horn honking outside. We spend our days negotiating prices and checking the stock that comes in through the narrow lanes. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We’re usually in old clothes because of the dust and the heavy lifting. Every morning, we roll up the shutters and start sorting through the orders. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat or share a cup of chai while we work. We know everyone on the street, from the guys selling snacks to the other traders in the market. It’s a tough environment but it feels real to us. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing where we are. When the festival season hits, the market gets even busier and we barely have time to sit down. We just keep moving and making sure things get where they need to go.
