Sonu Salon

Down in the Main Bazar of Ranjit Avenue, you’ll find Sonu Salon. We are right near the chownk, so there is always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside. Amritsar is a busy place, especially in the 143002 area. I’ve been working in this shop for a long time. It’s just a small place where people come to get their hair cut and talk for a bit. We aren't one of those fancy places you see in the magazines. It’s just me and the guys doing what we know how to do. The Main Bazar is a great place to be because you see everyone. In the winter, it gets really cold, so we keep the door shut tight, but in the summer, we leave it open to catch any breeze. Being near the chownk means everyone passes us at some point. I’ve lived in Amritsar my whole life, so I know a lot of the families around Ranjit Avenue. We don't have any complicated menus or services. You come in, you sit down, and we take care of your hair. That’s how we’ve always done it. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years and years now. We know their names and how they like their hair cut without even asking. It’s a community thing more than anything else.
