Unique Salon

Amritsar gets quite busy during the day, especially around the Mohini Park area. Unique Salon is tucked into King Enclave at Shop No 4. It is a decent enough spot, right near the Barar Hostel. Because the hostel is so close, we get a lot of young students coming in for a cut. They are usually in a big rush between their classes or they are heading out for the weekend. The shop itself is simple and plain. We have the usual chairs and some old magazines on the table that nobody really reads anymore. It is not one of those places with a fancy reception desk or a computer. You just walk in and if a chair is open, you sit down. If not, you wait a bit on the bench. We have got some posters on the wall that have been there for years. The floor gets covered in hair pretty quick when it is busy, so we are always sweeping it up. It is just part of the daily job. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, but that is just how it is here. We do what we can with the light coming through the door. It is a small space, so it stays warm in the winter but gets a bit stuffy when it is crowded in the summer months. We do not do anything too wild with styles. It is a basic place for a haircut.
