1986 Cafe Hair

If you find yourself in the D Block Market in Ranjit Avenue, you’ll see us at S.C.F. 32. It’s a bit of an interesting mix we have here in Amritsar. We call it 1986 Cafe Hair because we wanted a place where you could get a haircut but also maybe grab a coffee if you felt like it. The interior is just some wood and metal stuff we put together. It isn’t some high-end designer place, just a spot that feels comfortable enough to hang out in. We have the salon chairs on one side and some space to sit on the other. Sometimes it smells more like roasted beans than hair spray, which is fine by us. The market outside is always active, especially in the evenings when families come out for a stroll. We see a lot of young people coming in since we are in a popular part of town. The music is usually playing, and someone is always talking about the latest match or something happening in the city. We try to keep the atmosphere easygoing. It's not the kind of place where you feel rushed. You can just come in, say hello, and wait your turn. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass windows because the dust from the road always finds its way in. It’s just our daily routine here in the D Block, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It's a simple, local business that we run ourselves.
