Sonu Beauty Saloon

Sonu Beauty Saloon sits on Mata Kaulan Ji Marg in the Gopal Nagar area. It is tucked away in Tower Wali Gali, which can be a little confusing for people if they have never been to this part of Amritsar before. A good landmark to look for is Sun Valley School; we are not far from there at all. Most of the time, we can hear the kids playing outside or the school bells ringing during their recess. The shop itself is small and very practical. We have got a couple of chairs and the usual tools we need to get through the day. My brother and I run the place mostly. We start early because the men in this neighborhood like to get their hair sorted before they head off to their jobs. It is a quiet street compared to the main roads, which is a nice change of pace. Sometimes the neighbor's dog sits right out front of the door and we have to shoo him away so customers can actually get inside. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just hear about us from their neighbors or see the sign when they are walking through the alley. We try to keep the place tidy, but with hair falling everywhere, it is a constant battle with the broom. The tea stall guy brings us hot glasses twice a day. It is a simple life here in Gopal Nagar.
