Being on Lawrence Road means there is always something happening outside our door at Shop No 5. We are tucked away just behind Bansal Sweets, so the smell of sugar and fried snacks is usually floating around in the air, which makes everyone hungry by the afternoon. Sahib & Sahiba Unisx Salon is a place where we handle both men and women, so it’s a bit of a mix every day. One minute we might be doing a simple trim for a guy, and the next, someone is sitting down for a much longer job. The shop isn't huge, but we make it work. We’ve got a couple of regular staff members who have been around for years and know exactly how the locals like their hair done. It gets quite crowded on the weekends when people are out shopping on Lawrence Road and decide to drop in without much of a plan. We don't have a big corporate setup or a fancy receptionist greeting people at the door. It’s just us, the chairs, and the tools we use every day. Sometimes we run out of clean towels faster than we can wash them, or the water pressure acts up, but we just get on with it. People come here because they know us and they know they can just sit down and talk while we work. It's just a normal part of the neighborhood life here in Amritsar.
