It is a quiet enough area but we keep it a bit noisy with all the hammering and metal work we do. Our shop is where we take raw steel and turn it into whatever the local folks need, like farm tools or frames for their houses. We don't have many employees, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy lifting and the welding machines. The floor is usually covered in bits of metal and we have tools hanging on the walls wherever they fit. It is a simple setup without any air conditioning or fancy chairs. We just work with what we have. On most days, we are busy from the time the sun comes up until it goes down. Sometimes someone from the sweet shop will bring over some tea, and we take a five-minute break before getting back to the grind. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but it is what we know how to do. We don't spend money on advertising or anything; people just see our work in the village and come to us when they need something made of steel.
