Sharma Fabricators

Sharma Fabricators is situated near the Khajuri Gate. If you are coming from Love K-Ush Chowk, we are just a short walk from the corner. The workshop is usually quite loud because of the welding and the metal cutting machines running all day. We spend our time making things like gates, window grills, and sometimes the railings you see on stairs. It is hot, sweaty work, especially during the peak of summer, but we have been doing it for years so we don't mind much. My father was the one who started this shop and now a few of us keep it going. We don’t have a proper office, just the open shop floor with piles of iron and steel tubes everywhere. People usually just come in with a rough idea or a drawing on a piece of paper, and we figure out how to build it. It’s not a polished operation. We use old tools that have seen better days, though they still do the job right. Sometimes the paint takes a long time to dry when the weather is damp. You can usually find us just by following the sound of the hammers. We have a couple of old stools outside for anyone who wants to sit while they explain what they need. It’s a bit of a messy place with metal scraps on the ground, but we know where everything is. We just try to finish the work when we say we will.
