Steel Town Weekly

We run things out of our space in Focal Point, right off the G.T Road in Mandi. It is a busy area, especially with all the trucks passing by on the main road. Being called Steel Town Weekly, we spend a lot of time keeping track of what is happening in the industry around here. Our office is usually a mess of newspapers, notes, and coffee mugs. We do not have a fancy layout or modern furniture. Most of our desks are mismatched and have been here longer than some of the staff. It is a small operation, and we all wear different hats depending on what needs to be done that day. Some mornings are spent out talking to people, and the afternoons are for trying to get everything written down before the deadline. It is a bit chaotic at times, especially when a big story breaks or someone forgets to send in their piece. The G.T Road is always loud, and the dust settles on everything if you leave the windows open too long. We are not some big media company; we are just local people who care about what is going on in the steel market. We do not use a lot of fancy words or complicated jargon. We just tell it like it is and hope people find it useful for their own work. It is a bit of a grind, but it is what we know.
