Ritu Beauty Saloon &Boutique

We have been here in Kishan Kot for a good while now. The shop is right in Islamabad, Amritsar, and if you know this area, you know it gets pretty busy during the day. Ritu Beauty Saloon & Boutique isn’t some big fancy place with glass walls and uniforms. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. One side of the room is mostly for the beauty stuff, like getting your hair done or threading, and the other side has the boutique part where the fabrics and sewing machines are. It’s a bit crowded sometimes because of all the rolls of cloth and the chairs, but people here don’t seem to mind. We spend most of our mornings setting things up before the first few ladies show up from the neighborhood. Some come in looking for a specific suit design they saw somewhere, while others just need their hair fixed for a wedding. The street outside can be noisy with the rickshaws and people walking by, but inside it’s just the sound of the machines or someone chatting. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the stitching is straight and the colors match what the customer wanted. It’s a lot of work keeping up with both the salon and the tailoring, but that’s how it’s been for years. We usually stay open until late evening when the market starts to quiet down a bit.
