R K Casting Centre

R K Casting Centre is basically a small shop, number three to be exact, over in Guru Bazar. If you know the main market, you probably know where the Kala Silyi Wala is. We are right near there, nestled between some other shops. It’s a loud area with lots of people walking by all the time. We do casting work, mostly small metal parts and bits that people need for their machines or home repairs. The shop is full of metal pieces and the smell of grease and heat. It is definitely not a clean place, but it is where we work every day. My hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning and they stay that way until I go home. We have a few machines in the back that make a lot of noise. People stop by to ask for specific sizes or to see if we can fix something that broke on their equipment. We don’t have a website or any fancy advertisements. People just show up because they heard about us from a neighbor or another shopkeeper. We’ve been in this spot for years. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, but we just move the stuff out of the way and keep going. It’s a simple life for us. We close up when the sun goes down or when the market starts to quiet down for the night. Guru Bazar is a good place for a business like ours because everyone comes here eventually for something. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
