Naseeb Saloon

Naseeb Saloon is on the Main Road of Tilak Nagar, right in Shivala Colony here in Amritsar. We are quite close to the Bhaiyan Shivala temple, so it's a well-known spot in the 143001 area. The main road stays busy with rickshaws and cars all day long. I like being in Shivala Colony because it feels like a real community. Our shop is where men come to get a shave or a trim and maybe talk about the news for a bit. I have a couple of chairs and a small bench for people waiting their turn. I try to keep the towels white, but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant job of washing. The name Naseeb has been on the board for a long time. I don't think we will ever move from this spot. The morning starts with me sweeping the front step and getting the water heated up. There isn't any fancy marketing here, just a sign on the main road that says what we do. Sometimes we run out of tea and I have to send someone to the stall nearby. It’s just a normal, everyday shop. We don’t make big promises. We just do the work as it comes and try to be friendly to everyone who walks in from Tilak Nagar.
