Marwaha Store

If you walk down Gurudware Wali Gali in Amritsar, you will find Marwaha Store at Shop No. 3. It is right there in Bhawani Nagar. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The street is usually busy because of the gurudwara nearby, and people are always coming and going. We keep a bit of everything that a household might need during the week. From spices to soap bars, we have it on the shelves. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the morning when everyone wants their milk and bread at the same time. We just manage as best as we can. It is a local shop, so we see the same people every day. We know who likes which brand of tea and who usually forgets to bring a carry bag. Amritsar is a lively city and Bhawani Nagar is no different. We spend our day sorting through stock and making sure things are tidy, though it gets messy again pretty quickly. Running a store like this means you don't get much time off, but it is okay. We like being part of the street. You hear all the local news sitting here. It is just a plain, simple shop for the people living nearby. Nothing more, nothing less. We are happy to be here in this gali. Most days we close up late and just walk home tired after a long day of work, ready to do it again.
