Arora Store

Arora Store is located at 2112, right by the Mahan Singh Gate. It is a small spot, but we have been here long enough that everyone in the neighborhood knows the way. The gate is a big landmark, so we just tell people to look for that and they find us easily. We sell a bit of everything, mostly stuff people need for their houses every day. It’s a simple setup with wooden counters and shelves that go all the way up. I spend most of my day chatting with the neighbors who stop by for a few things. It’s not like those big supermarkets where nobody knows your name. Here, we know what most people want before they even ask. The building is quite old, and you can feel the history of the Mahan Singh Gate area when you walk around. We open up pretty early and stay open until the sun goes down. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once, but we manage. There is always some noise from the street, people talking and bikes going past. We don't have fancy displays, just the items sitting where people can see them. It is a quiet life, just running the store and seeing the same faces every day. We like it that way because it is predictable and honest work.
