Kumar Beauty Salon

Kumar Beauty Salon is found over on Albert Road in Amritsar. We are actually tucked inside the Kumar International Resort, not far from Realto Chowk. It’s a bit of an interesting spot because we get a mix of people staying at the resort and locals who just walk in from the street. The area around Realto Chowk is always buzzing with rickshaws and tourists, so it feels a bit quieter once you step inside where we are. We have our mirrors set up and our chairs arranged in a way that makes the most of the space we have. Every morning starts with the same routine of checking the supplies and making sure we have enough clean towels for the day ahead. Working inside a resort means things stay a little more orderly than a typical street shop, but it is still plenty of work. We don't go in for big advertisements or loud music; we just keep things moving at a steady pace. Sometimes the days are long, especially when there is a big event or a wedding group staying nearby, but we just take it one person at a time. We have our regular tools and our usual way of doing things that has worked for us for a long time. It is a practical little shop and we are happy to be working in this part of Amritsar where there is always someone new walking through the door.
