Guru Nanak Brick Kiln

Guru Nanak Brick Kiln is situated right on the Main Road in Neshta, which is out by Attari. If you’re driving along that way, you can’t really miss the smoke or the high stacks of bricks. It’s a straightforward operation we’ve got going here. We spend our days dealing with raw earth and the heat from the kilns. It’s messy work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be anything big or fancy. The location on the main road makes it easier for the tractors and trucks to pull in and load up without too much trouble. We just focus on the daily tasks of molding and firing. Some days are hotter than others, especially when you’re standing near the ovens all afternoon. It’s a local spot, and most folks in the Neshta area know we’ve been here for a while. We don't spend time on paperwork or big meetings; we’re usually out on the ground seeing how the latest batch is turning out. The rhythm of the work depends a lot on the rain. When it pours, things slow down, but otherwise, we’re out there from sunrise. It’s just how life is at a kiln like this one in Attari. We keep things moving as best as we can. It's a lot of heavy lifting but we get it done.
