Brick Industry

Brick Industry is situated out in Dhianpur Village. We are part of the Baba Bakala Tehsil, and if you look up, you can often see the planes coming in toward Raja Sansi Airport. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s a good spot for making bricks because of the soil. We use the traditional methods, which means a lot of manual labor and spending long hours outdoors. The weather really dictates our schedule. If it’s too wet, we can’t fire the kiln, and if it’s too hot, the work becomes twice as hard. We have a small crew from the village who have been working these piles for years. We don't have a fancy name or a big headquarters. It’s just the Brick Industry, doing what the name says. Most of the bricks we make go into local projects like farm buildings or small houses nearby. It is a dusty and dirty business, and my boots are always covered in red earth. We don't have a sales department. Usually, people just drive their tractors or trucks into the yard and tell us what they need. We count them out and load them up. It’s a simple way of doing things that has worked for us. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the bricks are solid and the kiln stays hot. It's tough work but it feels good to see a finished house built with our stuff.
