Our shop is down at number 7, Mandir Wali Gali in the Putligarh area of Amritsar. It’s a narrow lane, and we are quite close to the Durga Bhawani Bakery. You can often smell the fresh bread or biscuits from the bakery while you are sitting in the chair. The name of the shop is a bit different, but the work we do is just regular hair cutting and shaving. We have the usual setup with a couple of chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. The mirrors have a few spots on them, but they work fine. We get a mix of young guys and older men from around Putligarh. The street outside is always full of bikes and people walking to the temple. We usually have a small radio playing some songs to keep things moving. There is a lot of wood trim in the shop and some old photos on the walls. We don't have fancy lights, just what is needed to see the hair properly. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit or use the natural light from the doorway. We keep the towels in a stack in the corner. It is a small, honest business. We have been in this gali for a long time. People know where to find us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay busy.
