Satyam Shawls

We spend most of our days here at Satyam Shawls, which is tucked away in the Soni Building over in Shastri Market. It’s Plot No. 23, and if you know Anarkali Garden, you know it gets pretty busy around here. Mostly, we just focus on getting the shawls ready. There are stacks of wool and different fabrics everywhere you look in the shop. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we try to keep things organized despite the constant foot traffic outside. The morning starts with tea and then we get to checking the pieces. Some people come in looking for specific patterns, and others just want something warm for the winter. It gets a bit dusty because of the market location, but that’s just how it is. We’ve been at this address for a while now. The building is old, and the stairs can be a bit steep if you’re carrying a heavy load of inventory. We don’t really do much advertising because the local folks know where we are. Usually, the lights stay on late when there’s a lot of work to finish before the cold weather sets in. It’s a lot of manual work, folding and sorting through the various boxes. My hands are usually tired by the end of the shift. We just try to keep the piles neat, but by midday, everything is a mess again. It's just us here, working through the orders as they come. Nothing too complicated, just a regular day.
