A.K. Metal Mart

We are located at House Number 310, right near the Talo Wali Masjid in Asalatpura. It is a lively spot, especially on Fridays when everyone is out. A.K. Metal Mart is not really a mart in the way people think of big modern stores. It is more of a warehouse space filled with all kinds of metal bits and pieces. We have all sorts of stuff, mostly leftover pieces and specific parts that people in the neighborhood need for their homes. The building is old and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it is sturdy enough. We spend a lot of time sorting through piles of metal to find what a customer is looking for. It gets dusty, and my clothes are always stained with a bit of grease or rust. That is just how it goes in this trade. We do not have a fancy sign outside, just some writing on the wall so people know it is us. The mosque is a good landmark for people who have not been here before. We know the neighbors well and often chat with people passing by while we work. Business is steady, nothing crazy. We do not do much in the way of technology, just a notebook for keeping track of what we buy and sell. Sometimes the kids from the street play near the door, and we have to tell them to watch out for the sharp edges. It is a regular part of life.
