Shivam Cafe

If you find yourself near Tank Bazar or walking down Chatari talaw road, you’ll probably see us. Shivam Cafe is right there in Dastur Nagar, not too far from the shirbhate petrol pump. Amravati gets pretty hot, so we usually have the door open to catch whatever breeze comes through. I started this place because I wanted something to do in my own neighborhood. It’s not a big cafe with menus that you can’t understand. We keep things basic. Mostly it’s coffee, tea, and some snacks that people like to eat while they talk. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars on the counter and making sure the chairs are lined up. Sometimes students come in and stay for an hour just talking, and that's fine. The road outside is always busy with bikes and people heading to the pump. We have a few regular customers who come at the exact same time every afternoon. They don’t even have to tell me what they want anymore. I just get it ready when I see them parking their scooters. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it feels like home to me. I handle everything from the brewing to the sweeping. It’s just a quiet spot to sit for a bit before getting back to work or heading home for the night.
