The Timber Market is a busy place to be, especially around 5 Cross Road where there is always something moving. Our spot at 2742 is right in the thick of it. You can usually smell the wood from the other shops even before you get to our door. At Rama Equipment Company, the floors are a bit scratched up from moving heavy things around, but that is just how a working space should look. We do not have any shiny furniture or expensive art on the walls. It is mostly just us, some sturdy desks, and a lot of equipment. The mornings are the loudest because that is when the trucks come in to unload. We start early to stay ahead of the heat, though by midday it gets pretty warm under the fans. We do not use any complicated systems to run things. We just write things down and make sure we remember who called about what. It is a very hands-on way of doing business. If someone has a question, they just walk in and ask us. We usually eat our lunch together at the back when things quiet down for an hour. It is a decent routine that has worked for us for a long time. We do not bother with fancy advertising because people in the market already know where to find us. It is just a practical place for practical work.
