Village Vatika Restaurant

You can find us on Ranikhet Road in Ramnagar, which is the main way people get toward the mountains. Village Vatika Restaurant is located near the Devbhoomi Adventure area in Dhikuli. Being in the Nainital district, we get a lot of people passing through who are on their way to see the tigers or just to stay in the resorts nearby. Our place has a bit of a garden feel to it, which is why we call it a Vatika. It’s not a fancy resort, just a place to stop and eat while you are traveling. The air here is a bit fresher than the big cities, but the road gets very busy with tourist jeeps and buses. We spend our mornings sweeping the outdoor area and making sure the kitchen is ready for the breakfast crowd. Sometimes monkeys come around and we have to keep an eye on the tables. It is a family-run kind of vibe here, and we don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do. We just cook the food and hope the weather stays clear for the guests sitting outside. The evening time is usually the best when the sun goes behind the trees and the air cools down. We’ve been at this spot in Dhikuli for years and have seen the town change quite a bit around us.
