Zilla Parishad Prathmik School

Our school is right here on Anoopshahar Road in the Jamalpur area of Aligarh. It’s been sitting on this spot for quite a while now. Most people around here know where it is, just a simple building where kids from the neighborhood come to learn their basics. We aren't a fancy private place with big gates or anything. It's just a Zilla Parishad Prathmik School, so it’s run by the local authorities. The classrooms have high ceilings and the walls show some age, but that’s just how things are with older buildings in this part of town. Every morning, you see the students walking in from the nearby lanes. It gets pretty loud when the bell rings for lunch and everyone runs out to the small open area. We try our best to keep things orderly, though it’s a lot of work with so many energetic children running around. The desks are a bit worn out and sometimes the fans make a clicking noise when they're on full speed. We don't have a massive library or a computer lab like the big city schools, but we make do with what we have. It’s a place for learning the alphabet and numbers. Sometimes the dust from the road comes inside when it’s windy. We just sweep it up and carry on with the lessons. It’s a basic life here at the school, nothing too complicated or flashy.
