Being in Ganga Enclave means we are tucked away in a corner of Aligarh where things are usually a bit calmer than the main market. Running a pre-school is mostly about managing the chaos of little kids who have way too much energy for eight in the morning. Our building isn't huge, but there is enough room for them to run around without bumping into each other too often. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spilled juice and making sure everyone has their shoes on the right feet. It’s a noisy place, honestly. You can hear the singing and the yelling from the street sometimes, but the neighbors don't seem to mind much. We have a few simple toys and some colorful walls to keep things interesting for the toddlers. The teachers here are mostly local women who know the families in the area. It feels more like a big house than a formal school sometimes. We don't have a big fancy playground, just a small space where they can play during the break. Parents drop their kids off, say a quick goodbye, and we take it from there. We just try to keep everyone safe and reasonably happy until their parents come back at noon. We have a box for lost items that is always overflowing with lonely socks and water bottles. It is a lot of work, but it is what we do every single day without fail.
