Zafar Salon

Zafar Salon is sitting right on Ramghat Road in Aligarh. We are specifically near the Shivalik Ganga Apartment in the Swarn Jyanti Nagar area. It’s a pretty active part of town with a lot of cars and people moving around all day long. My family has been in Aligarh for a long time, and we know this road like the back of our hands. The shop itself is simple. We have the chairs lined up and some old pictures on the walls to give it some character. It’s 202001 area code if you’re looking at a map. We get a lot of guys from the apartments nearby who just want a clean shave or a quick haircut before they head to work. The summers here in Aligarh are no joke, so the shop is a bit of a refuge when it’s forty degrees outside. We don't have any fancy receptionists or anything like that. You just walk in and if a chair is free, you sit down. I handle a lot of the cutting myself. We use the same types of combs and razors that have worked for years. It’s about being consistent and showing up every morning. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place for a haircut on a busy road. People seem to appreciate that we are reliable and always in the same spot. Sometimes I walk over to the tea stall nearby for a quick break when things are quiet.
