My name is Syed Usmanviqar, and I operate out of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. We’re in the 202002 zip code area, which is a place with a lot of history and tradition. I’ve always liked it here because it moves at a bit of a slower pace than the big cities. I started my business here because I wanted to contribute something to my own town. The office isn't much to look at—it’s just a plain room with a couple of chairs and a computer that’s a few years old. But it works for what I need to do. I don't have a big staff, so I end up doing most of the work myself, from answering the phone to handling the actual tasks. Sometimes I get a bit behind on the filing, and the desk gets covered in papers, but I eventually get through it all. I don’t use any marketing tricks to get customers. I just talk to people and tell them what I can do. Most of my business comes from people I’ve known for years or from their relatives. It’s a very personal way of doing things. I like the fact that I can walk down the street and say hello to most of the people I pass. Aligarh is my home, and this business is how I make my way in the world. It’s not fancy, and it’s not perfect, but it’s mine. It keeps me going and gives me a purpose every morning when I wake up.
