Deepoo Hair Dressar

Deepoo Hair Dressar is my shop in the Main Bazar area of Englas. Being in Aligarh, specifically in a busy market like this, means there is always something happening outside the door. I’ve been cutting hair here for a long time and the shop has seen many changes in the town. Inside, I have the basic barber chairs and a row of glass bottles with different oils and sprays. The floor is made of old tiles that are a bit worn down from people walking in and out all day. Most mornings I spend time sharpening my razors and getting the towels folded. Men from the village come in for a shave before they head to work, and on weekends, the young boys come in wanting styles they saw on the internet. I try my best to match what they want, even if my tools are simple. There is a big mirror that covers one whole wall which makes the small shop look a bit bigger than it is. We have a small bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. Englas is a tight community so I know most of the people who walk past the shop. It’s a lot of work standing on your feet all day, but this is what I know how to do. The shop isn't shiny or new, but it's a reliable place for a haircut where people feel at home.
