If you head out toward Kapashi Talav in Akola, you will find our small office at Number 19 in Kapshi. We call ourselves Swayambhu Ganesh Farmer Producer Company Limited. The lake is a big part of why we are here, as water is everything in this part of the country. Living and working in Akola means dealing with some pretty hot days, and that usually dictates when we start our work in the mornings. We try to get most things settled before the sun gets too high. Our group is made up of neighbors who decided that working as a single unit was better than struggling alone. The office at the Kapshi address is where we keep all our records and where the trucks come to load up. It is a bit cramped sometimes when everyone shows up at once, but we make it work. We aren't interested in looking like a big city corporation. We are just people who know about seeds, fertilizers, and the hard work it takes to grow something from nothing. Usually, you can find one or two of us sitting outside the office talking about the crop yields or the cost of diesel. We keep our paperwork simple and our promises real. It is about making sure the people in Kapshi have a way to sell their produce without getting cheated. We just take it one day at a time here and hope for a good monsoon every single year.
