Shasvat Akola Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located in Sai Nagar, which is in Akola. Our main place is at Ashok S Patil’s home, and that’s where we usually get together to talk business. Akola can get incredibly hot during the summer, so we usually try to get our field work done very early in the morning before it gets unbearable. We are a producer company, which basically means we’re just a bunch of farmers working together as one group. We don’t have a big corporate structure or any of that. It’s more like a group of friends and neighbors helping each other out. We’ve lived in this part of Maharashtra for a long time and we know how the system works. Sometimes the market prices are good, and sometimes they’re terrible. We just try to even things out for everyone in our group. We don’t spend our money on fancy furniture or office decorations. Our space is simple and functional because that’s all we really need. There’s always someone dropping by to talk about the weather or some new bug they found on their crops. We listen and try to find a way to help out. It isn't a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We take some pride in the fact that we’re doing this ourselves without needing any big outside help. Just simple, honest work by local people who care about their land and their crops.
