Tip Top Hotel

Tip Top Hotel is located right on Cinema Road, very close to the railway station. Being this close to the tracks means there is always a lot of movement and noise around us. We’ve been here for years, and we see all kinds of people coming off the trains looking for a place to rest. It’s a straightforward hotel, nothing fancy about it. I handle a lot of the check-ins and check-outs myself. It can get pretty hectic when a big train arrives and suddenly ten people are at the desk at once. The rooms are basic but we try to keep them clean and the fans working. Because we’re on Cinema Road, it stays busy late into the night. I’ve gotten used to the sound of the whistles and the traffic outside. Sometimes the plumbing gives us trouble, so I have a local plumber on speed dial. We don't have a big kitchen, just a simple setup for tea and snacks. Most people stay with us because it’s convenient and they can walk to the station in just a few minutes. It’s a tough business sometimes, dealing with tired travelers who just want to sleep, but we do what we can. We’re just a small team of locals running the place day and night. It’s not a luxury stay, but it’s a roof over your head and a friendly face when you arrive in town.
