Shree Sai Palace Hotel

Ajmer can be a very busy place, especially around Diggi Chowk. Our building stands there amongst all the other shops and hotels. It’s an old area with a lot of history and a lot of noise. We spend a lot of our time checking people in and making sure the rooms are ready for whoever might show up next. The hallways are narrow and the paint might be peeling in a few spots if you look closely enough. We don’t have those big lobbies with fountains. It’s just a desk, a register, and the keys hanging on the wall. Guests come from all over, some staying for just a night and others staying longer while they visit the local sites. The fans in the rooms work hard during the summer months because it gets really hot in this part of Rajasthan. We try to keep the water running and the linens changed as often as we can. Sometimes the street noise from the chowk keeps things lively until late at night. You can hear the scooters and the people talking from the windows. It’s a practical place to stay if you don’t mind a bit of the real city life around you. We’ve seen many travelers come and go over the years. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in from the dusty street.
