Paramount Palace Hotel & Restaurant

You can find us right in the Railway Campus area of Ajmer, very close to the old Clock Tower and directly opposite the main railway station. Because of our location, the sound of train whistles and the station announcements are basically the soundtrack to our day. It is a very busy part of town with pilgrims coming to the Dargah and travelers arriving at all hours of the night. Our building is quite old and has that classic feel to it, though it’s definitely not a palace despite the name. We have both the hotel rooms and a small restaurant area where we serve basic meals. The tables in the restaurant are usually full of people waiting for their trains or just arriving in Ajmer. It gets very dusty with the trains and the station nearby, so we are always wiping down surfaces. The rooms are simple with just the essentials. We don't have a lot of fancy technology here. We use paper ledgers mostly and talk to our guests face to face. It’s a hectic place to work because things never really stop. Even at three in the morning, someone is usually looking for a room or a cup of tea. We just keep the doors open and do what needs to be done. It is a bit worn out in places, like the carpets in the hall, but it stays busy and that is what matters to us.
