Hashmi Hotel

Hashmi Hotel is located right on Jaipur Road, specifically near Nizam Gate which is the main way people go to reach Dargah Sharif. Because of where we are, there is always a crowd outside. You can hear the sounds of the rickshaws and people talking at all hours of the day and night. It is a very old part of the city, and our building fits right in with the others around the Dargah area. We spend a lot of time managing the rooms and making sure people who come for the pilgrimage have a place to stay. It is not always easy because the streets are narrow and getting supplies delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes. My brothers and I take turns at the desk, and we have a couple of guys who help with the luggage and cleaning. We don't really do much advertising because people just find us when they walk toward the gate. The fans in the rooms are always running during the hot months, and we are constantly checking the water tanks to make sure there is enough for everyone. It is a busy life, and sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming when the festivals are happening, but we have been doing this long enough to know the routine. We just keep the doors open and do what needs to be done every day to keep the hotel running for the visitors.
