You can find our main spot at House Number 101 in Chanmari Veng which is right along the Thingsai Road. It is quite close to the BDO office so people pass by us all the time. H. Lalnunmawia is the one who handles most of the coordination from that house. We are a group of farmers from all around the Hnahthial area. We decided to get ourselves organized because it is just easier to deal with the markets when you are a group. We grow all sorts of things on our various plots nearby. The land around here is actually very good if you know how to work it properly. Most of us have been farming since we were young children. We meet up at the house to talk about which crops are doing well and what we need to buy for the next season. It is a very local operation and we like it that way. We do not have any corporate offices or big bosses telling us what to do. We just work the soil and try to get a fair price for our produce. The road nearby stays busy with trucks and people going to the government offices. We are often seen there sorting out our seeds or checking the quality of the harvest. It is a lot of back-breaking work in the sun but it is what we know how to do. We deal with the rain and the heat.
