Bst Brick

Our place, Bst Brick, is situated at Gat No- 31 in Darewadi. We are right near the primary schools, so we hear the kids playing and the bells ringing all day long. It’s a nice reminder of the community around us while we are working with the soil and the heat. The plot isn’t massive, but we make the most of the space we have at Plot No- 2. Making bricks is a slow process if you want to do it right. You have to let them dry properly before they even go near the fire for baking. We spend a lot of time just moving stacks from one side of the yard to the other by hand. It keeps us fit, that's for sure. The dust gets everywhere, on our clothes and in our hair, but we don't mind much anymore. It’s part of the trade we chose. We’ve been in Darewadi for a bit now and we like the people here. They are straightforward and don’t expect anything fancy from us. We try to be the same way. Sometimes the school teachers come by to chat or ask for something for the school building. It’s a friendly spot. We don't have a big sign or a fancy gate, just a lot of bricks and some hard-working people. When the sun goes down, we lock up and head home like everyone else. It’s a good, honest day of work in this part of town.
